The cross - Mount Sainte Victoires' powerful cross, nearly 1000 metres high, looks onto the world below. This is the 4th cross that has been built on the same spot, the first one was built in the 16th century. On one side at the base of the cross, side facing Rome, is a Latin inscription that translates to: " Good, great God, oh cross, our force and God's force, hello ! May your light, so soft to the hearts of those that love Jesus, and so merciful to those who do not love him, shine afar."
