Cold war in Provence - Simiane la Rotonde is a beautiful medieval village perched on a hill in the Alpes d'Haute Provence. Only a kilometer of so west from the village is a disused nuclear missile silo! This explains the somewhat low population of this area. The nearby plateau d'Albion also housed many underground nuclear missile silos. These missile silos no longer exist. Mount Ventoux is in the back ground.
