Beautiful Noli - Seen from 300 metres up in the late afternoon. I have been wanting to do this flight for years It was the question of being there at the right moment with the right wind conditions and the right space to take off from. Today was that perfect day with a slight sea breeze and a take off zone in a nearby village that was free of cars and people. In these coastal areas there is little flat open space to take off from or land on. The only security landing spots are the beaches and in these areas the beaches are not large!

The seaside front of Noli. A small semi fortified medieval town in Liguria some 50 kilometres west of Genova. Once a republic of its own. The modern day name "Noli" was certainly derived from a form of "neapolis" which means "new city" in Greek-Byzantine. Noli's origins go back to roman times and beyond. The old part of the small town has changed little over hundreds of years. Nestled between two mountains and opened to the sea it is a real gem.
