The peninsula of Sirmione - It's around 11 am and the fog has just started to clear over the southern most part of lake Garda in Lombardy (northern Italy). The peninsula of Sirmione protrudes into the lake and disappears into the fog. At the end of the peninsula is the beautiful medieval town of Sirmione. I could not fly any further than this point as there were no more places to land in case of an engine failure and I was not really looking forward to a possible swim in the cold winter waters of the lake.
